How to install apps from USB device for TVpad M233 (TVpad2)

How to install apps from USB device for TVpad M233 (TVpad2)

If you may have noticed, TVpad2 (TVpad M233) normally does not support apps installation from an USB device. However, there is a way to install TVpad apps from an USB device. Follow the instructions below in order to install TVpad apps from an USB device. A couple of HK livestreams apps and HK video on demand app can not be find in the TVpad store, so you have to install them from an USB device. If you don't care about the HK apps, then you don't need to do this. All the other apps can be found in the TVpad store. See the video below of the apps installation progress.

Go to this page for the TVpad3 promotion packages:

English instructions of apps installation from an USB device for TVpad M233 (TVpad2)

1. The first thing you have to do is download the following zip file: XX安装工具.zip.
You can download this zip file and a couple of livestreams apps and video on demand app (6 in total) on the
following website: zip file download (external website)
Extract (unpack using Winrar for example) the zip file (XX安装工具), then you should get a file called
"gvos2-sd1". Copy that file (gvos2-sd1) to an USB-stick. The file size should be 284KB
(size on disk: 288KB).

One more HK app (粵海寬頻2 回放) can be downloaded here: TVpad video on demand app (This app is a
video on demand app, you can watch the video's on demand of all the HK channels).

2. Download the apps (located at the end of the first post) on the same website mentioned above.
They are zip files, so you have to extract/unpack (using Winrar for example) these zip files.
You should get .pkg files after extracting the zip files. Copy these .pkg files to the same USB stick.

Extract all the zip files and copy to an USB stick

3. Turn your TVpad2 on and wait untill it goes to the main menu.

Turn on  your TVpad2 and wait untill it goes to the main menu
4. Connect the USB-stick with your TVpad2. After the USB-stick has been scanned, you should see automatically the 安装工具 interface (see picture below).

Select the first option (blue square) and press the "OK" button on your remote.

Confirm the amount of apps in the USB-stick, select “安装”(blue square) and press the "OK" button on your remote to install the apps. If you only have put for example 2 apps in your USB-stick (of all the available apps mentioned in the first post (see step 1 and 2)), then you should see the number 2.

the apps icon of the installed apps.

Note:  After you have dis-connected (removed) the USB-stick, delete all the files on your USB-stick.

  1. my tvpad is unable to read the USB. Is there another way?

  2. Hi,

Thanks for information. I bought tvpad 323. I would like to wacth Vietnam TV online (the tvpad 323 has only 1 app: NamTV). Do you have any way to download this apps and install to this tvpad box? Many thanks

  3. Hi

Can you please be more specific with the location of the other 6 links for the hk apps please?! Or can you just directly reply back with the link for the dl of the apps above?

Thanks for your help and the info!

  4. After installation and removal of the USB, do I really have to delete the gvos2-sd1 file? That is, if I keep this file and delete the others (xxx.pkg) files it will save me the hassle to locate and to download the gvos2-sd1 file if I want to install other new xxx.pkg files in the future.

  5. Well, you don't have to delete the gvos2-sd1 file. Just don't connect the usb stick with your tvpad.

  6. does not work if you have tvpad M120, m121 or m121s

  7. Thank you so much. It works for me. You saved my day.
