TVpad 2 Cantonese HK video on demand app not working at the moment

It has been a long time I have posted on this blog. Not much has happened during this time period (meaning I have not experienced any downtime for a long period). 

Since about two days ago, the TVpad Cantonese Hong Kong (eg. TVB and ATV, J2, etc) video on demand app does not seem to work at all. The TVpad Cantonese HK Live TV channels app (HITV app) also doesn't work on my TVpad at the moment. However, the other Cantonese HK Live TV channels app still works fine, so just try that app if you want to watch Live TV (eg TVB, J2) from Hong Kong.

The limited Cantonese video on demand app (with only the newest TVB series and TV Entertainment show) does seem to work fine, but I think you have to wait about 1 day after the official broadcast to watch the latest TV series episode in this video on demand app (it is uploaded much slower compared to the other Cantonese Hong Kong video on demand app.) 

I have tried the other live TV apps on my TVpad such as the live Taiwanese TV app as well as the live Korean TV app and they are working also fine at the moment. 

Hopefully, it's just a temporary problem. Let me know below if you have experienced the same problems.

    I will definite go home tonight and check again. I have a TV pad 4 works fine until Tue 10/27 and all of a sudden I can't click on anything and i check internet testing it says server down ... I am hoping i will see it again tonight.

    All the official tvpad websites are gone. Even the facebook page. I think this is the end. :(

    The cantonese app keeps giving me a download failed. I'm also getting a server problem. It said abnormal error code 1. What does it mean? Will my parents get to watch TV again? Hopefully, it goes back to normal soon.

    @H. Ho: Yes, I have noticed it too, the official site and forum is basically offine (servers are offline I guess). But I still can watch Live TV on my TVpad, so it's not yet over.

    Besides, there are a lot of alternatives on the market, but basically Tvpad is still the most popular around the world.

    @last-facade: Did you try the other TVpad Cantonese HK live channels app? It's currently working fine on my TVpad. I also can watch the live TV channels from Taiwan and South-Korea. The limited video on demand app is also working with the latest TVB TV-series updated about 1 day after the official broadcast in HK.

    The DNS of tvpad is changed, you can use the network manual setting to change it to 146.0.227.36

    i manually changed DNS to above it is still not working. I know my internet is working both ethernet or wifi. I do a factory reset and a network testing and the error is in server ... Does anyone know what I can do to bring TVpad4 back to make my parent happy. Or can I download apps somewhere and reinstall into my TVpad ... Right now even my TVpad store is all empty.

    Manually change the DNS as mentioned above and it worked for me. If it doesn't work for you, try 199.231.210.237. Someone said it work for them

    Just input the new DNS # it still does not work very frustrated but I appreciated your input. I did the network testing it showed an error code 21 and it passed IP address gateway DNS but failed server.

      Don't change sever code. Be sure just change DNS code

    I don't know about any other live Cantonese apps, but the one that my parents use is 粤海寬頻2. The other non live apps seemed to work, I don't think my parents have any other live apps installed. Also, when I clicked on the app/TVpad store, I cannot access it.

    I tried changing the DNS, everything else passed, except I'm still getting an abnormal error code 1 for the server.

      I did a reset on my tvpad4 so now all my apps installed are erased and tvpad store is empty no content. Does anyone knows how to manually install apps on thumb drive and install on tvpad ...

      Yes you can goto http://www.appnnn.com/ download the tvpad apps to your usb..plug the usb to the pad and install it

    Unfortunately it appears TV Pad may be going under. Btw Korean apps stopped as well yet I still have live steams?

    Hi all.. uk user here. Ive tried all DNS quoted and 199.231.210.237 works ok.... even though when I done the system check the servers says abnormal still.. . But the main thing is the apps are all working. ... so far so good anyway. Try it but ignore what yhe system check says

      After entering the DNS you provided, it said I address, Subnet mask and gateway cannot be left empty. What do I input for those please?

    My TVPAD3 got server error and changed DNS to 146.0.227.36 and it works for a few hours then not working again.

    @Joana Carvalho, you do not have to change IP address, Subnet mask and gateway.

      But I can only change the DNS when I selected manual setting. Those fields were blank in the auto setting. When I input the new DNS as mentioned, it said those fields must also be filled in. Help!

      You don't goto lan settings.you goto wifi settings... then change it to manual...and you just need to change the dns

    I am having the same issue where I am not getting anything. I tried the DNS 199.231.210.237 and 146.0.227.36 on my tvpad2 for the last 3 days from Nov 8, 2015 and I kept getting an error that the IPS address, gateway and subnet mask are left empty. I am not sure where to go look to see what will work or what needs to be changed on my end. Any help would be much appreciated. I hope the tvpad server aren't going under. My parents only watch Chinese shows and Dish network only shows reruns and like old shows. It has nothing up to date.

    @Red Five: As mentioned earlier, you don't need to change the IP address, gateway and subnet mask. Only change the DNS number.

    Tvpad2 not working in northern Ireland, used all DNS addresses I could find and still no joy. I think I broke my mum's heart :o( and her tvpad2. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I change DNS, hit OK to save, unplug the power from tvpad2 box, wait a couple of minutes, plug it back in, open some of the apps and still server down. Internet is fine, even restarted it a few times. No luck. Please help!

      Sorry Joana... didn't realise you left me a msg last time... mine stopped workinggain for the last few days. Im now using DNS 49.213.10.163 and live streaming and VOD is working again. Hope you get yours to work too.

      That's the DNS I'm using. Can't exactly say is not working, but connection is unstable even though it's wired and not wifi. Thanks for sharing anyway...any updates, pls let me know!

    I have a tvpad 2 and have tried all DNS numbers people have given with no luck. My server has error code -1 but I cannot watch anything. Please help

    Hi all,
    after all the dramas that's happening with TVPAD, I searched for an alternative. They said they will shut down TVPAD 1,2 and 3 on 1st Jan 2016....and even though TVPAD says their TVPAD4 will be working, i'm still suspicious as firstly, they lost their lawsuit and was forced to shutdown their main DNS server. So rather than risking their TVPAD4...I found an alternative solution. I ordered a HTV3 box. I got this delivered today and so far its been better than TVPAD. There are lots more channels and they all seem to be working. It has all the channels TVPAD had so i'm not missing any live dramas or VOD. I highly suggest HTV3 box. There was also another one called Moonbox... but I don't know what that one is like as I didn't buy it... but online review seems OK, I guess.
